About Breathwork

Get Out of Your Head.

Get Into Your Body.

And Write from Your Deepest Knowing.

The best writing doesn’t come from your mind—it comes from your body. From the depths of emotion, memory, and intuition.

But when the inner critic is loud, when self-doubt scurries in, or when you’re spiralling in old stories, creating can feel heavy, tangled or damn near impossible.

That’s where Breathwork comes in.

Breathwork is a transformational healing practice that dials down the ego and dials up the subconscious mind, helping you side-step resistance and sink into the vast reservoir of creativity, clarity, and knowing that’s already inside you.

This isn’t just deep breathing.

It’s a guided journey designed to shift your state, clear unprocessed emotions, and bring deep, cellular-level healing—all by using the breath.

What Happens During a Breathwork Session?

Using a conscious, connected circular breath, you’ll double your oxygen intake and lower your carbon dioxide levels. This initiates a powerful detoxification process—clearing out stagnant energy, freeing buried emotions, and helping you process unhealed experiences and trauma stored in the body's cells and tissues.

And the skip-down-the-street-extra-double-bonus (especially for writers)...

As you breathe in this rhythmic, intentional way, the controlling, overthinking part of your brain quiets down. The ego steps aside, allowing access to the subconscious mind—the place where creativity lives (and plays!) and where incredible transformation happens.

During a session, you might:

🌟 Experience physical sensations like tingling, temperature change, or lightheadedness as energy shifts in your body.

🌟 Feel emotions bubble to the surface—grief, joy, frustration, love—without your ego jumping in to manage or mute them.

🌟 Gain powerful insights, breakthroughs, and clarity about your life, relationships, or creative projects.

🌟 Enter an altered state of consciousness where your intuition, creativity, and inner knowing reveal themselves to you in beautiful new ways.

Every session is different. Some are deeply emotional (crying, laughing, rolling waves of gratitude). Others are euphoric. Some feel like a full-body reset. However the session goes, you’ll leave feeling clearer and more connected to yourself—and your writing.

How to Prepare for a Virtual Breathwork Session

If you’ve never done something like this, Breathwork might sound a little weird and woo-woo. I get it! But trust me, you’re in good hands, and I'll be with you every step of the way!

Here’s how to prepare for your session:

Find a quiet, comfortable space. You’ll want a private, distraction-free place where you can lie down comfortably. A yoga mat on the ground works great.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Breathwork shifts energy in your body—comfort is key, and you want to be able to move freely.

Have water and a blanket nearby. Some people feel temperature shifts, so you might want an extra layer handy, for warmth and coziness.

Use headphones for the best experience. Music plays a powerful role in guiding the session, and earphones can make the experience more immersive.

Bring an eyemask or small towel. Blocking out light can help you tune in more deeply and minimize outside distractions.

Come with an open mind. Let go of expectations. Your body knows exactly what it needs to release and process. Your job is to simply surrender.

Is Breathwork for You?

Breathwork is a potent practice, especially for writers who are ready to strengthen their creative connection:

✔️ If you struggle with perfectionism or endless editing, Breathwork can help you set aside your inner critic and write with more freedom, courage and grace.

✔️ If you find yourself overthinking instead of writing, this practice helps quiet the busy mind so you can drop into flow faster.

✔️ If you feel blocked or disconnected from your emotions, Breathwork brings you back into your body, where your most powerful stories live.

✔️ If writing feels exhausting instead of energizing, this practice helps reset your nervous system so you can create from a place of ease, instead of obligation.

✔️ If you want to access deeper layers of your voice, Breathwork helps you tap into the stories, memories and truths your body’s been holding.

Breathwork is incredible, but it’s not for everyone. If you have any of the following conditions, please consult your doctor before participating:
